# Carolina Wings & Rib House Expands Near Lake Murray

A new Carolina Wings & Rib House location is under construction in Chapin, near Lake Murray, as confirmed by a Facebook post from the chain’s Ballentine location on August 19, 2026. This expansion marks the fifth establishment for the Midlands-based restaurant chain, known for its extensive menu of over 20 chicken wing flavors, as well as burgers, salads, sandwiches, and ribs.

The new restaurant will be situated on Columbia Avenue, slightly outside Chapin’s town center. While an exact address is not yet available, the location is behind the Little Caesars at 523 Columbia Avenue, positioned between Farm Boy’s Barbeque and a Lexington Medical Center Urgent Care facility. Construction is proceeding from the ground up, according to a photo shared in the online post.

The goal for opening is early 2027, though a firm estimate is not yet established, a manager at the Ballentine location stated on August 24. Carolina Wings & Rib House first opened in 1996, founded by the Schoolmeesters, Midlands restaurateurs who also operate two Columbia-area George Roberts Wine & Raw Bar locations. The chain emphasizes its commitment to providing delicious food at a great value, maintaining its identity as a local wing joint.

Despite its classification as a chain, the restaurant distinguishes itself from fast-food establishments by preparing its entire menu to order. The new Chapin location will be close to Chapin High School, Chophouse of Chapin, a Goodwill, and several fast-food chains. The section of Columbia Avenue where the restaurant is being built experiences traffic from approximately 13,800 cars daily, according to state Department of Transportation data. Other Carolina Wings & Rib House locations are in Ballentine, Cayce, Lexington, and Red Bank.
