# Lexington SC acquires defender Patrick Seagrist

Lexington SC announced on Tuesday, August 25, that it has acquired fullback Patrick Seagrist from Greenville Triumph SC via transfer. Seagrist is expected to be available for selection on Wednesday night when Lexington SC visits New Mexico United at Isotopes Park.

The 28-year-old defender has accumulated over 150 professional appearances across the USL Championship, League One, and USL Cup competitions. Throughout his career, Seagrist has recorded three goals, 10 assists, and created 99 chances. This season, he has contributed two assists in 16 appearances for Greenville.

Seagrist expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to return to the Championship and join a club with high expectations and a goal of chasing a trophy. He stated his commitment to giving his all for the remainder of the season and looks forward to reuniting with familiar faces among the players and staff.

Seagrist was initially drafted 10th overall by Red Bull New York in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, starting three matches for the team before being traded to Inter Miami CF. He was then loaned to the USL Championship’s Indy Eleven. After one season with Indy, Seagrist signed with Memphis 901 FC, where he played alongside Aaron Molloy and Phillip Goodrum during a season that saw the club achieve 21 regular season wins. During his time with Memphis, he logged nearly 3,000 minutes, scoring one goal, providing four assists, making 75 interceptions, and creating 33 chances.

The Barrington, Illinois native joined Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC in 2023. Mid-season, he was transferred to FC Tulsa, where he rejoined Goodrum and played with Marcus Epps, Blaine Ferri, and Milo Yosef. Seagrist remained with Tulsa until 2025, making 58 appearances for the Scissortails before signing with Greenville.
