# Riverhounds Draw with Tampa Bay

The Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC, a competitor to Lexington SC in the USL Championship, played to a 0-0 draw against the league-leading Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at F.N.B. Stadium. The match was characterized by its physical nature, featuring 31 fouls.

Riverhounds head coach Rob Vincent was issued a red card late in the game after leaving the technical area to protest a challenge. The draw maintains the Riverhounds’ strong home record against the Rowdies, with only one home loss in 11 all-time meetings.

In the first half, Eliot Goldthorp of the Riverhounds had an early scoring opportunity in the fifth minute, but his shot was headed away by Rowdies defender Ethan Bartlow. Minutes later, a free kick for the Rowdies found former Riverhounds defender Nate Dossantos, whose header was saved by Nico Campuzano, one of only two saves Campuzano made for his ninth shutout of the season. The second half saw Trevor Amann come close to scoring for the Riverhounds from a Sam Bassett corner kick, with his effort hitting the side netting. Charles Ahl also had a curling shot drift high after creating space. The physicality escalated in the 72nd minute when Goldthorp received a caution for persistent infringement. Shortly after, a challenge by Rowdies veteran Laurence Wyke on Amann went uncalled, leading to Vincent’s red card and a protest from goalkeepers coach Jon Busch. Ahl later received a caution, and Wyke was involved in another physical play with Junior Etou. Despite set-piece opportunities for both teams, neither could break the stalemate. Former Riverhounds goalkeeper Jahmali Waite recorded the clean sheet for the Rowdies.

Jackson Walti was named Modelo Man of the Match for the Riverhounds, demonstrating a 94.4 percent pass connection rate, winning 8 of 11 duels, and contributing two interceptions and two clearances. The Riverhounds are scheduled to face another Florida team, Miami FC, on Saturday, September 5, having won their previous meeting against Miami FC 2-0 on May 30.
