# SRS Museum Receives State Award for Traveling Exhibit

## SRS Museum Honored at State Conference

The SRS Museum, located at 224 Laurens St. S.W., received the 2026 Award of Achievement for its SRS @ 75 Traveling Exhibition. The South Carolina Federation of Museums presented the award during its annual conference, which was held in Aiken. The federation described the traveling exhibition as an innovative and accessible outreach initiative that brings the history, science, and legacy of the Savannah River Site directly to communities across South Carolina.

Dr. Jim Marra, chair of the Board of the SRS Heritage Foundation, accepted the Award of Achievement on behalf of the SRS Museum. The SRS @ 75 Traveling Exhibition is currently on display at the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center on the campus of USC Aiken through the end of September.

Members of the South Carolina Federation of Museums gathered in Aiken for their annual conference, titled Witness to History: Place, Storytelling & Collective Memory. The conference was hosted by the SRS Museum, the Aiken County Historical Museum, and the Center for African American History, Art, and Culture.
