# Aiken Salvation Army offers last chance for Christmas help

## Salvation Army of Aiken Extends Christmas Assistance Registration

Families in Aiken County who did not meet the online registration deadline for Christmas assistance through the Salvation Army now have an additional opportunity to sign up. The online registration period for this assistance concluded on Sunday.

In-person applications will be accepted from October 12 through October 15 at the Salvation Army’s office, located at 322 Gayle Avenue in Aiken. This registration is for both children and seniors.

Rina Powell, director of development for the Salvation Army, indicated that the Angel Tree program addresses a growing need within Aiken County. Last year, the Salvation Army provided services to 4,000 children and seniors, and a similar number is anticipated to be served this year.

The Salvation Army is also seeking community partners interested in hosting an Angel Tree at their location. Additionally, the organization is looking for warehouse space to operate the Angel Tree program during November and December. The Salvation Army office can be contacted at 803-641-4141.
