# Irmo Okra Strut Returns This Weekend

## 51st Annual Lexington Health Irmo Okra Strut Set for Moore Park

The 51st annual Lexington Health Irmo Okra Strut is scheduled to return this weekend, offering two days of music, food, family activities, and community events at Moore Park. The festival is set for Friday and Friday, September 25-26, at Moore Park, located at 7473 Church St.

Friday’s events will commence with opening ceremonies at 6 p.m. at the Prisma Health Amphitheater. Following the ceremonies, The Big Time Band is slated to perform at 7 p.m. Later in the evening, Monsters of Yacht, a Yacht Rock tribute band, will take the stage at 9 p.m., featuring songs from the 1970s and early 1980s.

Saturday’s activities will begin early with the Irmo Okra Strut 5K race at 7:30 a.m., starting at Irmo Village Shopping Center, 7571 St. Andrews Road. The annual Okra Strut Parade will follow the race at 9 a.m., with its route along St. Andrews Road, beginning near CrossRoads Intermediate School and proceeding toward Irmo Elementary School.

After the parade, festivities will continue at Moore Park, where attendees can find food and beverage vendors, local artisans and exhibitors, and children’s amusements. The weekend will conclude Saturday afternoon with a free performance by Elizabeth as Taylor, a Taylor Swift tribute act, at the Prisma Health Amphitheater, starting at 4 p.m.
