Lexington, S.C. — Town detectives opened a multi-agency probe Thursday into storefronts accused of putting scheduled drugs and related gear out for buyers.

Chief Terrence Green said the Lexington Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is running the inquiry. Crews executed search warrants at the sites on Nov. 5.

Energy Express Exxon at 1104 North Lake Drive was among the addresses listed. Officials said five businesses are tied to the allegations covering scheduled narcotics and paraphernalia.

Help on the case is coming from the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, the State Law Enforcement Division, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations.

Green said work at the scene is not finished. Thursday briefings did not list charges while investigators sort through what was seized under the warrants.
