A new Carolina Wings & Rib House location is under construction in Chapin, as revealed by a Facebook post from the chain’s Ballentine restaurant on August 19, 2026. This will mark the fifth establishment for the Midlands-based restaurant chain, known for its extensive menu of chicken wings, ribs, burgers, salads, and sandwiches.
The new restaurant will be situated on Columbia Avenue, slightly outside Chapin’s town center. While an exact address is not yet available, the manager of the Ballentine location stated on August 24 that the building is being constructed from the ground up. It will be located behind the Little Caesars at 523 Columbia Avenue, positioned between Farm Boy’s Barbeque and a Lexington Medical Center Urgent Care facility.
The goal is to open the new Chapin location in early 2027, though a firm opening estimate is not yet available. Carolina Wings & Rib House, which first opened in 1996, was founded by the Schoolmeesters, Midlands restaurateurs who also own the two Columbia-area George Roberts Wine & Raw Bar locations. The chain emphasizes its identity as a local wing joint focused on providing delicious food at a great value, with its entire menu cooked to order.
Other Carolina Wings & Rib House locations include Ballentine, Cayce, Lexington, and Red Bank. The new Chapin restaurant will be near Chapin High School, Chophouse of Chapin, a Goodwill, and several fast-food establishments. The section of Columbia Avenue where the new restaurant is being built experiences traffic of approximately 13,800 cars per day, according to state Department of Transportation data.
