The development, known as Platt Springs Crossing, spans 60 acres off Platt Springs Road near South Lake Drive. County tax map records list the property at 5432 Platt Springs Road under ownership tied to JPMorgan Chase Bank, and a sign posted at the site already advertises the new Chase location as opening soon A Lowes Foods grocery store anchors the overall project.
Construction crews were actively working at the site this week, with visible progress on both the Chase branch and the previously planned Fifth Third Bank building. Chase operates more than 5,000 branches nationwide and has said it plans to open 160 new branches across the country in 2026, making the Lexington County location part of a broader national expansion push.
Traffic counts along Platt Springs Road run about 19,300 vehicles per day, a figure that likely factored into the site’s appeal for retail and banking tenants looking for steady visibility and easy access. The corridor has seen a steady wave of commercial investment in recent years as Lexington County’s population growth pushes new development toward its edges.
County planning officials have not indicated a specific opening date for either bank branch, though the pace of construction suggests both could be operational within the coming months.
