LEXINGTON, S.C. — Golfers who missed out on the Lexington Chamber’s Fall Golf Classic will get another shot this season, after the chamber created a brand-new tournament in Lexington called the Lexington Links Autumn Open, set for Nov. 9.
The original event filled up almost as soon as registration opened. A sold-out field played the Oct. 19 Classic at Golden Hills Golf & Country Club, where chamber board chair Austin McVay handed out the awards.
The new tournament returns to Golden Hills and will raise money for the Lexington Business Alliance Foundation, which works to strengthen the local business community.
Teams play as foursomes. A team entry costs $650, or $750 with mulligans included, and the top leaderboard sponsorship, which comes with a foursome and a hole sponsorship, is listed at $1,500. A handful of team spots remained open as of the weekend.
