This year’s grants are being distributed among four deserving schools, each receiving up to $5,000 to support innovative projects that will directly benefit students. Each school had to contribute a modest 10% match to apply, showcasing their commitment towards enhancing the learning experiences in their classrooms. Together, these four funded projects will positively impact the lives of 1,824 students starting this fall!

Exciting Projects on the Horizon

Gilbert Elementary School is ready to take the digital leap with their project titled “VR: A New Dimension of Learning.” With $4,734 from the grant, they plan to purchase 8 Class VR goggles along with lesson subscriptions for students in grades 3-5. This innovative approach is sure to whisk students away to exciting virtual worlds while learning important concepts.

Oak Grove Elementary School is not far behind! They’ve been awarded $3,630 for their project called “Ozobots: Tiny Bots, Limitless Potential.” The funding will help them acquire a classroom set of Ozobots, which will allow students to dive into the world of coding and robotics. These tiny bots will inspire creativity and critical thinking among the young tech enthusiasts!

Pleasant Hill Elementary School is taking it to the next level with their project “Develop Number Sense with Digi-Blocks.” The school received $4,949.75 to purchase Digi-Blocks for students in grades 1-3. This hands-on learning tool will bolster students’ understanding of the place value system, making math fun and interactive.

Last but not least, Saxe Gotha Elementary is all set to ignite critical thinking skills with their project “Eagle Ts: Critical Reasoning to Grow Young Minds.” With $2,358.99 in hand, they will provide students in grades 1-5 with engaging critical reasoning games, setting a solid foundation for analytical skills that will serve these kids well as they grow.

To date, they have invested a staggering $255,571.23 across 45 grant awards, benefiting over 30,727 students in and around Lexington.
