Maj. Gen. Daryl Hood Concludes Service at Fort Jackson
Maj. Gen. Daryl Hood formally relinquished command of the U.S. Army Training Center at Fort Jackson during a one-hour ceremony held at Victory Field. This event marked the conclusion of his two-year tenure as leader of the base and the end of a 41-year career in the Army.
During his extensive military service, Maj. Gen. Hood held numerous leadership positions across the United States, Europe, South Korea, and the Middle East. He also completed deployments in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Afghanistan. His distinguished career included receiving awards such as the Army Distinguished Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff Identification Badge.
Lt. Gen. Johnny Davis, commanding general of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command, spoke at the ceremony. Following Maj. Gen. Hood’s departure, Col. Robin Husted, Fort Jackson Deputy Commanding Officer, will assume the role of interim commanding officer.
