LEXINGTON, S.C. — Lexington SC will open its USL Championship playoff run at home, welcoming the Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Sunday, Nov. 1, with kickoff set for noon in a Western Conference quarterfinal.
Lexington earned home field by finishing fourth in the West at 14-10-6, good for 48 points. Colorado Springs, at 13-9-8, ended fifth with 47 points, one behind.
The hosts wrapped up the regular season Saturday by battling Phoenix Rising FC to a 3-3 draw, coming back after Phoenix had built a 3-1 lead. Phoenix still reached the playoffs on the strength of other results that night.
The visitors arrive with one of the league’s most dangerous finishers. Forward Khori Bennett scored from the penalty spot Saturday as Colorado Springs blanked FC Tulsa, and his 15 goals left him tied for third in the scoring race.
A win would send Lexington into the conference semifinals, and the winner of the series goes on toward the league final later in November.
