Lexington, South Carolina – Bart Kenneth Pensa, a beloved member of the Lexington community, passed away on July 14, 2025, at the age of 63. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication, remembered by family, friends, and colleagues alike.

Bart was born on October 14, 1961, and he was a proud graduate of Irmo High School. Following his high school education, he pursued a higher education degree, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in marketing from the University of South Carolina. His education laid the foundation for a successful career in the sales industry, where he showcased his talents working for notable companies such as Breyers, Kraft, and Mayfield.

Throughout his career, Bart demonstrated exceptional sales abilities, receiving multiple accolades, including the Salesman of the Year award from both Kraft and Mayfield. His impressive track record in sales culminated in a 25-year tenure as a co-owner of O.L. Holley Sons, where he significantly contributed to the company’s growth and success.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bart was a passionate hobbyist known for his love of sports. He engaged actively in his community as an officiant for local football and baseball games, sharing his enthusiasm with youth athletes. In addition to sports officiating, Bart enjoyed woodworking and mountain biking, activities that reflected his adventurous spirit.

Bart was also a talented baker, delighting friends and family with his legendary cakes, which were a staple at gatherings and celebrations. His creative touch in the kitchen brought joy to many and embodied his generous nature.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Wanda Holley Pensa, who stood by him through life’s joys and challenges. Together, they raised three children: Grant (Rhyan) Pensa, Katherine (Justin) Long, and Zach Pensa. Bart was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Emma, Conner, Dublin, Murphy, and Jack, who filled his life with immense pride and happiness.

In addition to his immediate family, Bart leaves behind his brother, Marc Pensa (Betty), as well as several nieces and nephews who cherished their time with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Elizabeth Pensa, as well as his brothers, Karl and Rick Pensa. Their memories live on through the stories shared by those who knew him.

A visitation and memorial service will be held to honor Bart’s life on Tuesday, July 22, at Barr-Price Funeral Home in Lexington. The event will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and members of the community to come together and celebrate his legacy of kindness and dedication to others.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, an organization that played a significant role in Bart’s illness. This contribution can help support ongoing research and aid others who are affected by this disease, continuing Bart’s spirit of generosity even after his passing.
