Dr. Rawl earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1971 from Duke University School of Medicine, where he also served as president of his senior class.
After completing his education, Dr. Rawl trained in general surgery and urology at Vanderbilt University Hospital, finishing his residency in 1977. He subsequently joined Columbia Urological Associates, where he worked as a partner for over 40 years until the practice’s merger with Lexington Urology.
