HISTORY
Lexington had its beginning on January 24, 1820 with the purchase of 2 acres of land for the establishment of a new courthouse and jail for Lexington County. The Town was called “Lexington Courthouse” until 1900.

There are many parks and facilities available in the area to include leisure centers, parks, and walking trails. The Lexington County Recreation & Aging Commission manage all complexes and centers.
