Lexington and West Columbia: Crime Buzzes with Stolen Trucks and Drug Arrests

Lexington is bustling with activity and not all of it is good news. The Lexington Police Department is hot on the hunt for a stolen 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck. That’s right! This truck vanished into thin air from the Cedarcrest Apartments on Augusta Road between February 10 and February 13, 2025.

Now, if you’re the type who keeps an eye out for vehicles around town, you might want to know that the truck was sporting a South Carolina license plate number 5684NA. It also had some distinct features that could help identify it, such as a black CamoLocker toolbox, towing mirrors, aftermarket taillights, and some unique tailgate markings. This truck is not just any truck; it’s got some serious character!

The police are encouraging anyone who might know something about the truck’s whereabouts to reach out. Detective Tomaino is the go-to person for tips at 803-358-7271 or you can email at mtomaino@lexsc.gov. Circle K Robbery Shakes the Community

January 30, 2025, a 17-year-old male from Chester County found himself in quite the mess after he allegedly robbed a Circle K convenience store on Sunset Boulevard. The robbery went down around 8:00 PM the night before, on January 29th, and it had law enforcement on their toes!

Thanks to the teamwork involving multiple agencies, including Cayce Police and Columbia Police, officers quickly swung into action. The investigation led them to a local motel on Harbor Drive, where they found evidence tied to the robbery. Even more thrilling, they tracked down the suspect in a nearby wooded area after discovering an article of clothing that linked him to the scene.

Unsurprisingly, the teenager is facing some serious charges: Armed Robbery, Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Kidnapping. He was promptly taken to the Lexington County Detention Center and will soon face a bond hearing. It’s a reminder that crime can impact anyone, anywhere.
