Lexington – The Lexington Police Department is actively seeking public assistance to identify multiple suspects involved in recent shoplifting incidents throughout the area. Authorities are requesting anyone with information regarding these thefts to come forward and help them apprehend the alleged perpetrators.

The most recent incident occurred on June 18, when two suspects allegedly stole over $2,300 worth of merchandise from ULTA Beauty. The police urge anyone who may have information about this incident to contact Detective Matthews at 803-358-7262 or via email at jmatthews@lexsc.gov. Additionally, anonymous tips can be submitted through Midlands Crime by calling 1-888-CRIME-SC, with the possibility of receiving a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.

In addition to the theft at ULTA, investigators are also looking into another significant shoplifting case that took place at Walmart on December 9, 2024. During this incident, over $2,000 worth of merchandise was taken. The investigation revealed that three individuals worked together to commit this theft, with two suspects identified through license plate information. The third suspect remains unknown and was wearing a distinctive multi-color “Hilfiger” polo shirt at the time of the theft. Anyone with tips regarding the Walmart incident is encouraged to contact Detective Williamson at 803-358-1514 or jwilliamson@lexsc.gov. Anonymous tips can also be directed to Midlands Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or through their website.

Prior to these incidents, on June 7, 2025, another shoplifting event took place at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Lexington, where a male suspect concealed more than $280 worth of tools in a shopping bag and exited the store, driving away in a black Cadillac Escalade. Those with any information about this theft should reach out to Detective Matthews at 803-358-7262 or jmatthews@lexsc.gov. As with the previous cases, anonymous tips can be made through Midlands Crimestoppers by calling 1-888-CRIME-SC or visiting their website.

Moreover, earlier in February 2024, a woman was involved in a shoplifting incident at ULTA Beauty, where she stole $1,593 worth of merchandise. Information regarding this particular case can be provided to Detective Morrison at 803-359-1569 or through email at mmorrison@lexsc.gov.

The Lexington Police Department emphasizes the importance of community involvement in solving these theft cases. The department is hopeful that with the public’s assistance, they can quickly identify the suspects and prevent future shoplifting incidents across local stores. By reporting tips, residents can play a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of their community.

As these ongoing investigations develop, authorities remind the public that no detail is too small when reporting suspicious activities. The police encourage everyone to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings to help protect local businesses from theft.
