Columbia, SC – Whataburger is set to open its newest location in Columbia on Thursday, July 10, 2025. The restaurant will begin serving customers at 9:30 a.m. and is located at 4456 Devine Street, a site that was previously home to a PDQ restaurant, which closed in February 2024.

The first 100 customers who visit the new Whataburger will receive a special swag bag along with a complimentary breakfast item such as a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit or a Breakfast Taquito. This promotion is intended to celebrate the restaurant’s opening and to welcome new patrons to the area.

The new establishment will be equipped with a double drive-through, a spacious dining room, and high-tech digital menu boards to enhance the customer experience. This location is the fifth Whataburger in the Midlands, joining the existing outlets in Irmo, Bridgeberry Lane in Columbia, and two in Lexington. The expansion reflects the increasing popularity of the fast-food chain in South Carolina, with a total of 11 locations already established in the state prior to this opening.

Whataburger is committed to providing service around the clock, operating 24 hours a day, 364 days a year, and will remain closed only on Christmas Day. The new Columbia location will create approximately 65 job opportunities for local residents, contributing to the local economy.

Customers at the new Whataburger will also benefit from online ordering options for curbside pickup, as well as access to an online grocery store. This store offers various food items including sauces, pancake mix, and Whataburger-themed apparel, further broadening the dining and shopping experience.

The decision to open another Whataburger location in Columbia comes after acknowledging the patience of local residents who have awaited the brand’s expansion in South Carolina. As more residents and visitors discover Whataburger’s unique menu offerings and quality service, the chain looks to foster a loyal customer base in the area.

As Whataburger continues to expand across the state and the Midlands region, this new location aims to deliver the same level of service and quality that has made it a favorite among many diners. With its distinct menu and commitment to community engagement, Whataburger plans to establish a lasting presence in Columbia.

This opening marks another step in Whataburger’s mission to become a staple in the Southern fast-food market, embodying the warm hospitality and rich flavors that the brand is known for. As customers prepare for the grand opening, the enthusiasm around the event reflects the brand’s success and the anticipation of new menu experiences for everyone in the Columbia area.
