Simpsonville Teen Dies in Go-Kart Accident at Frankie’s Fun Park

Simpsonville is grieving after a tragic incident at Frankie’s Fun Park that claimed the life of 17-year-old Kamel Seveion Sewell on Friday. The young employee passed away shortly after an accident involving a go-kart and a forklift at approximately 11:42 a.m.

The collision occurred while Sewell was driving a go-kart at the popular amusement park, located at 45 Park Woodruff Drive. According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the go-kart Sewell was operating collided with an industrial-sized forklift, which was also under the control of a park employee. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation by both the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and local law enforcement officers.

Following the accident, deputies responded to a 911 call, quickly managing the site of the incident. In the wake of the tragedy, Frankie’s Fun Park suspended operations for the day, closing its doors to the public. The park’s general manager, Jamie Waddell, expressed heartfelt condolences in a statement, emphasizing the park’s cooperation with law enforcement and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) during the investigation.
