Lexington – Twisted Whisk Bakery is set to enhance its service to the community with a new walk-in business model following a successful expansion in May 2025. This initiative, spearheaded by Muffen Minemier, an experienced baker with 20 years of expertise, aims to cater to the growing demand for baked goods in Lexington.
With the new walk-in model, Twisted Whisk is now open to serve customers directly, allowing them to purchase a variety of freshly baked goods onsite. The community’s reception has been overwhelmingly positive, with many locals supporting the bakery’s transition to this model. During the first month since the launch of walk-in sales, Twisted Whisk has seen a surge in customer visits, indicating a strong interest in the offerings.
Twisted Whisk Bakery provides an array of baked items, including three to four types of pre-sliced cakes each day, cronuts, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and a selection of pastries such as turnovers and danishes. The bakery’s specialty focus on buttercream frosting is particularly notable, with over 50 unique flavors available for customers to choose from. In addition to the current selection, Minemier plans to expand the menu to feature five to ten different cake flavors and additional specialty items, ensuring there is something for every palate.
The bakery initially began as a consultation and cake-decorating class operation, when Minemier rented a building in Lexington four years ago. This year, Twisted Whisk has progressed in its business approach, aligning with community needs and preferences. The custom cake service for weddings and parties will continue, with orders conveniently available through the bakery’s website or Facebook page.
Twisted Whisk is conveniently located at 206 West Main St. in Lexington. The current business hours are Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. To further engage the community, an official grand opening event is planned, set to coincide with the Town of Lexington’s activities. This event is anticipated to draw even more attention to the bakery and its offerings.
Minemier credits her success and the bakery’s growth to her husband and family’s support, as well as spiritual guidance, emphasizing that she considers her achievements to be a blessing. As Twisted Whisk Bakery continues to grow, it stands as a testament to the importance of local businesses in fostering community spirit and providing quality products.
