Columbia Welcomes New President for Midlands Technical College

Columbia, South Carolina – The city is set to celebrate the inauguration of Dr. Gregory D. Little as the seventh president of Midlands Technical College (MTC) this week. Who is Dr. Gregory D. Little?

Before his appointment at MTC, Dr. Little had an extensive career in education. He served as the superintendent for both the Mount Airy City Schools in North Carolina and Lexington School District One in South Carolina. In 2022, Dr. Little became the Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Innovation for the South Carolina Technical College System. Prior to this role, he was the acting executive director and president of the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education.

Dr. Little has a solid educational foundation, having earned his undergraduate degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He furthered his studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he obtained both a Master’s Degree and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction.
