COLUMBIA, S.C. — The home of the Columbia Fireflies is getting a new name. The team and the City of Columbia said Wednesday that Segra Park will become Prisma Health Park through a naming rights agreement that runs 15 years.
The ballpark anchors the BullStreet District, and the Fireflies will play their first season under the new name in 2027. Holiday Lights, the team’s winter display, returns to the renamed venue starting Nov. 20.
Prisma Health, the largest health care provider in South Carolina, has about 32,000 workers and makes up eight percent of the jobs base in Richland County. Jennifer Montgomery, who leads the system’s Midlands region, said the deal gives Prisma a way to reach people outside hospitals and clinics.
Mayor Daniel J. Rickenmann credited the team with helping revive the BullStreet area, and Fireflies managing owner Jason Freier called Prisma a neighbor that shares the club’s vision for the park.
The stadium hosts 66 Fireflies home dates a season and has drawn close to 2.5 million fans over the team’s first 10 years. It also books more than 150 private, corporate and charity events each year.
