LEXINGTON, S.C. — Groucho’s Deli is adding a shop on South Lake Drive in Lexington County, and the owners are aiming for an opening in January 2027.
The sandwich shop will take over the space where Buck’s Pizza used to operate, at 1856 South Lake Dr., Suite B. That is in the Food Lion shopping center where SC-6 meets Platt Springs Road, between the Red Bank and White Knoll communities. Neighbors in the center include Palm Beach Tan, China House and Popeyes.
Michael Manley, one of the owners, said a firmer schedule will come once the contractor has permits in hand and the building drawings are approved.
The site sits on a busy stretch. State Department of Transportation counts show roughly 28,300 vehicles a day on South Lake Drive.
The chain began in Columbia in 1941 under Harold Groucho Miller and now lists 32 restaurants in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. Its Formula 45 sauce was perfected in 1945, and the company describes its first recipes as potato salad, coleslaw and dressings that Miller brought with him to town.
